IML Goes Blue for World Hunger Relief 2010 Kickoff

Yum! Brands was planning to launch their World Hunger Relief 2010 efforts with a local fundraiser at a relatively new local venue.  They asked IML to transform the Kentucky African American Heritage Center into a viable space for a dinner and auction as well as a high-energy club atmosphere for an incredible Blues Brothers concert.  We were delighted to do our part.  We were not only honored to provide our production services, but also decided to join the cause by providing our management and personnel at no charge.

Yum! Brands' annual World Hunger Relief campaign is the world's largest private sector hunger relief effort, spanning 110 countries, 37,000 KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver's and A&W All-American Food restaurants and over one million employees, to raise awareness, volunteerism and funds for the United Nations' World Food Programme (WFP) and other hunger relief agencies.

Working with the Yum! Brands Meeting & Events Department, the event planning team, decorators, vendors and venue staff - the collaboration transformed the venue into something out of an industrial posh NYC nightclub.  Not only did the worthy cause gather some much needed funds, those in attendance were treated to an incredible night in a wonderfully unique atmosphere and a chance to see a once-in-a-lifetime intimate show with the Blue Brothers, Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi. Everyone was a proud participant on this night of fundraising.

In the past three years, Yum! Brands' World Hunger Relief campaign has raised nearly $60 million for WFP and other hunger relief organizations and is helping to provide approximately 250 million meals, saving the lives of millions of people in remote corners of the world. More than 1.4 million of the Company's employees, franchisees and their families have volunteered more than 15 million hours to aid hunger relief efforts in communities worldwide. In January 2010, Yum! Brands was honored to be named WFPís Partner of the Year at the World Economic Forum annual meeting at Davos. Additionally, PR Week awarded World Hunger Relief with top honors as the Cause-Related Campaign of the Year 2010.
