1. Time in business - Quite honestly, website design is a very popular trade and there are more design companies and freelancers available today than you could shake a stick at. If a company has been in business for a while, chances are there is a reason for that; they deliver quality work. Unreliable companies do not last in the website design business, but standup companies who offer great services do.
2. Previous clients - Any company that has worked for a high-profile company almost assuredly promotes this fact as it lends credibility to their services.
3. Portfolio of work - Many site design companies will post previous work on their website. Check the work and look into how what they have done fits with what you are looking for.
4. Timeliness and punctuality - One of the biggest problems that website owners can face with their web design team is the lack of punctuality. Now, to be fair – there is no way to determine whether a particular company will live up to their stated timelines, but searching for reviews about the company using a search engine should reveal this. You can also contact a few of the company’s previous clients if you feel the need to.
